Pre-Japan Preparation and Journey to Japan

It is much to my excitement to start writing about my 8 days 7 nights Japan vacation! Finally, I had always imagined visiting Japan and hoped for that one day to blog about my dream vacation here. But now that it is happening, I am feeling that tinge of bittersweet as it reminds me, once again, that my dream vacation is a thing of the past. Looking back, I remember the frustrating wait spent counting down from 200+ days and the euphoria when the countdown reached to a single digit. All the time spent planning for my itinerary and outfit was worth it! The vacation was beyond awesomeness, full of surprises and culture shock, and even the tiredness from shuffling between places made up the fun we had there.

This dream vacation was truly a blast and my boyfriend and I enjoyed discovering something unique and beautiful about Japan everyday. I will blog about them here in separate blog posts. ^^

Now before the actual blog post, here is the background preparation work we done prior to the trip which I would like to share a little here.

Flight and Accommodation

Purchase website: http://www.zuji.com.sg/
Price: SGD1189.855 nett per pax (2 Indirect Flight Tickets & 7 nights of 1 standard twin room)
Flight: CHINA EASTERN AIRLINES Economy Seat
Hotel: Sunshine City Prince Hotel, Ikebukuro
Days: 8 days 7 nights

Many told me I had gotten myself a real great flight and accommodation deal, which I agree too but it is not without any trade-off. Indirect flight was quite an unbearable experience and I spent around 2-3 hours at China Pudong for my second flight leg. The reason why I went for indirect flight was because of the price and arrival time. This flight schedule was such that we reached Narita Airport at approximately 12.50p.m Tokyo time.

For my transit, there were free internet access at China Pudong but Facebook and Twitter were blocked by the Great Firewall of China so there was little I could do to pass time while I was there. China Eastern Airline isn’t as bad an airline as most would think of and I liked that their services were pretty good. But the little seat pitch we had, lack of personal in-flight entertainment TV console made it a little uncomfortable. Overall it was bearable and acceptable for the good price that we were paying for the 8 days worth of fun.

Here are some pictures we took before we reached Narita Airport. ^^

Angry Bird gallery at Changi Airport

Believe me, you know you are in Singapore when every corner you turn to, you get to see Angry Bird merchandises. The Angry Bird craze has been going around in Singapore for quite some time and now, even Singapore Terminal 3 is using it as marketing gimmick. For me, I think they are cute!

But for those kids, it seems like their favourite! LOL!

And along the way, we saw mobile phone charging booth with locker which seemed like a GREAT IDEA!

Except that it didn’t work. -.-

And fast-forward a little, we were queuing up to get onboard! It is always better to be at the other side of the glass panel. Missing it now T-T

And then we touched down at China Pudong safety at about 6.20 a.m. local time.

We decided to have some breakfast first.

The coffee was quite good but the xiao long bao was so so.

And onto our second flight leg.

And off we go to the clear blue sky~

And he pointed out the metal rim turns black.

And the plane was on its way to landing!!!

And we had finally reached Japan! To be continued soon! <3
