Sephora Colorista Custom Makeup Palette 2011

Hello people, I am so happy to be BACK!!! The past few weeks had been insanely hectic and I am so glad it is finally over so I have more time to blog!!! It is strange how sometimes I wanted out when the obligation to write frequently is too overwhelming, and other times wish I could stop my other commitment to just blog and blooooog about things I feel passionate towards. It is good to be back :) It’s been awhile

Yes, this is my first ever Sephora cosmetic purchase and tell me how this make-up palette wouldn’t win any woman’s hearts over with its insanely amount of colours, comprehensive makeup items and super innovative magnetic case which allows for customisation?

I bought this makeup palette at Sephora, ION Orchard Singapore at SGD79. A little more information on this lovely palette from Sephora website

Colorista Custom Makeup Palette

What it is:A makeup palette with dozens of colors and a removable compact

What it does:The Colorista palette gives you a spectacular range of colors, including a balanced mix of wearable nudes, stylish runway-inspired shades, and bold colors. When at home, keep the sleek black case nearby for exactly the right hue when you need it. For your purse, choose eight of your favorite colors and pop them into the customizable compact. Made with quality ingredients, each eye shadow is highly pigmented; the blushes and bronzes blend easily.

This palette includes:

- 40 eye shadows
- 5 cream eyeliners
- 15 lipsticks/lipglosses
- 4 blushes
- 2 bronzers

What else you need to know:Using the included tool, it’s easy to to lift the shades you want out of the palette and place them into the portable compact. Magnets hold each color tray in place, ensuring that they stay put. Mirrors are included in both the compact and palette case.

Recently I have developed an interest in makeup palettes. In the past, I used to buy makeup items separately and it isn’t economical to own a wide array of lip colours(my most neglected makeup item) though they are important to bring out new looks. It is just me who don’t want to spend money on whims. Now with this, I have 15 new lip colours! :D Soon I will be playing with red lipsticks to create new look!

I am so glad this is my first makeup palette because I had so much fun playing with it. When I first flipped out the casing, I didn’t know the 4rd row from the right was eyeliner! I was like, ’ What? Green colour for lips?’ haha! Turns out those are gel eyeliner!

I totally looooooooove the choices for all the makeup items. It also contains bronzing powder which I previous own none!

Everything about this makeup palette is magnetic, from the individual colour trays to the case lid. There is a plastic cover to hold down the colour trays in place to prevent fall outs caused by hard knocks.

The choices of colours and textures are extreme. It ranges from matt to shimmery texture, and the eyeshadow colours go from ‘tame/nude’ to wild so it is great to create many looks!

What truly amazed me is the magnetic make-up palette which can hold 8 colours. The greyish pieces sitting on the base of the palette case are magnetic stripes to hold the colours in place.

Those colours can be popped out using the stick which looks like this.

The colour snaps hard when it comes into contact with the magnetic stripes and judging by it, I believe it is able to hold the colours securely.

And with that, I customised 2 palettes :D

Very inspired by MAC’s Christmas colour theme.

Suitable colour combination for OL.

This is FUN! I can mix and match the colours to experiment with different looks~

Now here is the swatch

The colours are very pigmented! I did a light swipe and dabbed the colour on my eyelid and it is showing out well. When I tried to wash the swatch off my hands, it took me some effort to wash it off thoroughly.

I have yet to wear the colours out because I reserved its condition for photo-taking purpose so I will do a proper review and post picture of myself in them soon :)
