Wig #06 - Aquadoll Feminine MIX Carl Medium

Finally moving out from Japanese cosmetic reviews into reviewing on my forever love, wigs! On a side note, I am really thinking of not doing any review for my wig #05, which is a super blonde wig as I don’t really like it. Plus in case if you are wondering about the numbering of my wig entries, they are numbered in ascending order to the date I bought them

End of my gibber and right into my second Aquadoll wig review :D

Here is a review on my second wig from Aquadoll! ♥ Feminine MIX Carl Medium in Ash Gold ♥

Below is the model shot of the wig

In terms of length and style, this Aquadoll Feminine MIX Carl Medium is definitely much shorter and the curls are tighter than my first Aquadoll wig, which you can read my review here.

On a side note, Aquadoll released MB, MS and NB(?) colour for this wig recently. MB looks super GORGEOUS on the model! I might be tempted into buying MB if it was available at that time when I purchased one. I still wonder how MB will look like on me in medium and long length. Personally I think this wig design is better suited in light shades.

The packaging

As previously mentioned, Aquadoll is moving away from a plain ziplock bag packaging to a transparent bag with thick paper inserts/binds(?) printed with ‘Aquadoll’ names pretty in pink!

Even the wig cap, which comes in one qty per wig, is prettily packaged. The wig is protected by a wig net and papers are rolled and stuffed inside the wig to keep it in shape.

The wig

Curls: This wig is super curly, isn’t it? In fact, the curls which you see above are results from some intense finger combing. I am not too used to tight curls and it definitely require some loosening up to suit my liking.  In real life, the wigs looks somewhat like the studio shot, only much curly than the one shown on the Aquadoll’s website. The fringe is super thick and falls slightly over my eyebrow.

Quality:Aquadoll = quality and this did not fail my expectation. The hair is soft to touch, fine yet voluminous at the same time. It does feel and look natural. However, I noticed the colour discrepancy and in real life, this wig looks golden brown to me, unlike the impression I got from the model shot. In the model shot, it looks ashy but I wouldn’t consider this colour as ashy like CM. FYI, this picture is taken w/o flash and unedited.

So this is how I looked with the wig :)

I somehow feel that I look older than my actual age when I put this wig on, and it could be because of my red lipstick. This is the first time I am wearing a red lipstick for my blog entry :D

You can brush the fringe slightly towards one side to give it a little parting with the hair tucked in.

This is how the wig looks like from top down.

And from side and back view

The makeup

Heavy lower eyelash makeup + red lipstick: If you realise for most of my wig post, I tend to try out new makeup style to create a new look for my wigs and this is why I took a little longer to churn out a wig entry :/ This time round I went for a heavier eye makeup and a bold lip colour which I have never tried before. Actually I did a little nose shading too to create the false impression of higher nose bridge.

Accessorising wigs

This is how I look with a hair accessory over the wig.

Overall: I like this wig but it isn’t my favourite. I think the curls are still somehow overwhelming on me but it is definitely a unique style worth buying. :D
