Wig #12 - Aquadoll Natural Loose Long Curls in CM

This wig I am about to review is probably the best Aquadoll wig sales item ever at a 83% off! For a full long wavy wig, this only costed me ¥1,680, which is around S$26.37! How ridiculously affordable can the price be for such gorgeous wig!?!

Picking on the wig colour took me quite some time before I decided to go for CM. I was torn between CM and LB, hee.

My general rule of thumb is to choose a colour that I am least likely to achieve on my hair, and that is why I always end up picking those few colours, lol!

Design:

When compared with the model shot, the wig came in tighter and in more defined curls and does not appear as ashy as the model shot.

Does this remind you a little of my Wig #07 - Highlight Streaks of Orange and Blonde? But they are very different in real life and only slightly similiar in terms of the hair length and design. Of course I love this wig so much more for its quality and defined curls.

To be honest, I do not think the curls will hold up strong to be as pretty and define in the picture now after several wear. The wig’s curls ended up looking loose after this shoot. :/ But I believe a little scrunching on the hair can bring back the curls. In any case, you can still use curling tongs on Aquadoll’s wig so it will be fine though I have yet to use curling tong on mine.

Talking about getting tangled? Yes, all wigs be it short or long will get tangled depending on the amount and strength of the curls so you might want to avoid finger combing your hair too much.

Colour & Volume: CM definitely looks less blonde as compared to MB but much more ashy. Ashy blonde is a really tricky colour to work around my skintone. Overall, I am glad I chose this colour as it is quite unique. In real life, this wig looks more ashy than these photos.

As for the volume, I would say it is medium and I am very pleased with it. It doesn’t feel heavy on my head.

Quality:

Good quality: Fine hair which is soft to touch. If there is one thing I can complain about this wig, it will be the strange balding patch near the fringe. The hair falls naturally in this manner by default and makes me wonder if this defect can help explain the crazy price.

However, rest assure that it doesn’t show as such when I put it on and after some combing over to cover the patch. So that is still acceptable.

Makeup:

As for the makeup, I was going for a slightly natural look. Notice how the eyelashes are of less volume and curl as compared to Dolly Wink’s? I was also wearing my grey colour contact lenses without the usual eye enlargement black rim.

I think coloured contact lens looks better as compared to dark colours for this wig colour.

See the variation below; I was wearing dark brown eye enlargement contact lenses and IMO I think it didn’t look as nice. Sometimes I think eye enlargement contact lenses do not really suit me.
