Candy Doll Limited Brush Set

Cool news! While we are waiting impatiently for updates on Dolly Wink’s new collection, here comes interesting brush set release from Candy Doll! Oh Tsu-chan, you are everywhere! <3

Made of goat fur and there we have 4 brushes for liquid and powder foundation and blusher.

Left: Liquid Foundation  Right:  Powder Foundation

Tsu-chan shows you how to use it correctly!

I find this technique of using powder foundation exceptionally interesting!

Left: Cheek Brush  Right: Wide Cheek Brush

Purchasing it? Definitely a hell yes if only it is still available and in stock at Japan this December. Talking about counting down to my 8 days Japan vacation trip, I have another 47 days more to go! So excited! ^^

Candy Doll Crystal Face Powder - Mineral Powder Review

Hello all! It’s been awhile since I last do a proper blog post on anything of my interest because I have been busy with work and taking breaks over the weekend which I usually use to do my blogging. I hope to do more wig reviews, makeup tutorials and cosmetic reviews in the coming weeks so do watch this space. :)

As promised, here is my first Candy Doll cosmetic reviews which I have purchased at Singapore Watsons! The first item I am going to review is none other than the Candy Doll Crystal Face Powder - Crystal Pearl Mineral Powder (01). Candy Doll loose powder comes in both finishing; Crystal Pearl (01) and Natural(02). I chose 01 because I was hoping the glitters will give a radiant finishing like my current Sana powder.

Isn’t Tsu-chan’s standee cutout cute? All of its cosmetic packaging comes with one Tsu-chan cutout each at Watsons!

Product Description: Candy Doll Mineral Powder is blended with particles of different size to uniformly cover pores. Since it hardly causes unevenness after being applied to the skin, the coming off of make-up is not likely to happen. It keeps make-up fresh for a long time. It is also very good for touch-ups.

  • 10g shelved in plastic casing
  • Mineral ingredients that does not clog pores
  • Hide pores
  • Matches any skin tone
  • Will not create creases

Sounds promising isn’t it and especially it is such a popular gyaru product which got featured in a lot of Japanese magazines.

Here is more photos of its packaging and yes, I am crazy over photographing packaging.

You got to love Japanese cosmetic not only for its quality but also packaging. The bottom flap took me awhile to figure out how to open it without tearing it apart! THis origami piece of packaging was sure fun!

Casing: The 10g loose powder is housed in a plastic casing and the lid design is actually a sticker pasted over instead of a print. This case does feel a little more sturdy than my other loose powder casing.

You can see how thick the case is from the center portion which shelves the powder.

The puff is awesome! It is super soft and I feel very pampered using it.

The powder is very glittering.

A word of caution though. Do press against the powder sifter while peeling off the sticker away else you will get the powder scattered all over from the pressure.

Now the review~

Review

Before we start and in case if you are wondering, my skin tone is around light medium beige range and I have used this loose powder for at least 4 days to come up with this review. I am basing this review with comparison with my favourite SANA Maiko-Han Powder N Pink.

Staying Power ★★★☆☆
The powder does seem to have reasonable staying power but the colour started oxidising on me pretty badly and I do not consider my combination skin to be accountable for that since I have no problem with my HG Maiko-Han powder. Though my flaws are left concealed with this loose powder but I cannot get over how it oxidises on me so much that I feel like I am a shade darker.

Coverage: ★★★☆☆
The coverage is quite impressive and better than
my HG Maiko-Han. It also did a pretty good job to create an illusion of smaller pores. But a big minus point for how the shade did not turn out well for my skin tone.

Oil Control ★★★★☆
I have combination skin type and I feel that the oil controlling property does work for me. My skin feels less oily at the end of my day but like how some online bloggers were mentioning, it can be rather drying to skin.

Finishing ★★☆☆☆
To be honest, I am very disappointed with the finishing look after hearing how hyped up this loose powder is. The pearl particles which were meant to give a radiant look makes me look like a disco ball with a grayish cast. I will blame it on the overdosing of pearl particles.

Overall ★★☆☆☆

I seriously think this is an overly hyped up loose powder which fails to meet my expectation. I really wish I had loved it but it just didn’t work on me. And nope, I am certainly not going to do another repurchase and am leaving my current case alone. :/

Candy Doll Singapore Advert

The other day I was mentioning about Candy Doll arrivals at local Watsons stores and today I saw its print advertisement on Watsons’ brochure and thought of sharing it here.

Not all of the colours are available for its local release like the lipstick range in Vanilla Beige but be glad that the more popular items and colours are available! I took a lot of photos from my Candy Doll purchase which I have gotten over the week, and I cannot wait to do reviews on that. I absolutely LOVE Candy Doll lipsticks though they are very drying.

Tsu-chan looking pretty with the lame glitter under her eyes! You can find all the colours available for the highlighter and blushers’ range here. Feel like buying purple marshmallow highlighter :0

And something interesting coming on our way in local Watsons stores! Very soon we will have a “Gyaru Concept Space” in selected Watsons outlet starting from 29 September. I wonder how it is going to look like but of course I wouldn’t expect anything close to Shibuya 109’s SBY makeup space. Will keep a lookout and post updates about these here.
