CECIL McBEE x Prisila Wig Collaboration
Ever wondered how a gyaru brand would reflect its style outside of apparels on say, wig? There we have it for CECIL McBEE x Prisila limited wig collaboration. Prisila is a very well established Japanese wig brand that is known to support fashion shows like Tokyo Girls Collection and have a very diverse range of wig style, ranging from the typical ones to harajuku-style wigs just to name a few off hand.

I am extremely pleased to learn about Prisila’s move to collaborate with a gyaru brand for it brings about a lot of interesting possibilities, given that gyaru brands have ever-changing season concepts that bound to excite girls. I am hoping for more wig brands to jump into the bandwagon. Alright, let’s take a look at the collection!
Firstly, the Full Wig series

I hope to see more of such collaboration in future. Imagine donning a wig design which is a replica of your favourite oshare-p’s hairstyle at the moment!
I am hoping to see an EMODA wig in future! Imagine that!
Vinnie Nudie Long Wig in Maple Chocolate
Blogger’s Talk: Hello! I am finally back with a review for the wig brand I recommended previously on my Japanese Wig Brands on Rakuten Vol 1 post. It has also been awhile since I last wrote a wig review here too, isn’t it? So let’s jump right in~
CHELSEA Vinnie Nudie Long Wig Real Human Hair in Maple Chocolate ¥3,980 (Purchase here)
I had always wanted to get myself a long and straight wig in dark brown and call that ‘every girl’s dream to own one’ but I somehow put myself off from getting one sooner because there were simply too much choices around to make up my mind. It was until I chanced upon CHELSEA on Rakuten that I decided to go for one made of human hair, or at least that was what Chelsea claimed on their shop. As for the choice of colour, I am more tamed down now and chose a more natural colour, Maple Chocolate.
Here is the studio shot of the wig.

Wig style: The studio shot gives the impression of a very natural overall look. Pretty much the default wig look: Long and straight with very natural inward curls at the hair end. Though this is what some will call the ‘default’ wig design, there is a lot of potential for creating varied looks through styling.
Packaging
The packaging came as a very nice surprise with a rather sturdy zip-up plastic bag but can be a hassle to pack the wig back through the small opening. And as you can see, the brand of this wig is Vinnie Wig.

It comes with a pictorial step-by-step guide to bring you through wearing your new wig.

Wig Profile
Here is how the wig look from different angles.

Wig colour - Maple Chocolate: The colour of the wig from the picture above is quite a close representation of its colour in real life. When seen indoor, this wig colour does not appear as solid black but leaning towards a very dark brown chocolate colour. I am absolutely comfortable with this hair colour as it looks very natural.
Wig Quality: I was a little skeptical towards its claim of this wig to be made of human hair given the really affordable price. And guess what when I felt the wig on my fingers? It really felt like the texture of human hair and the natural shine bounced off from this wig is unmistakably of that to human hair. When I place the wig next to my hair, they look the same but only of different colour. Hence, I do believe that they are made of 100% human hair. And to be honest, I was a little freaked out to see how real the wig look on the wig stand. So quality wise, needless to say, you can’t nitpick on wigs which is made of human hair.

Wig Volume: Ahh, volume! This is really tricky here! This wig does appear to be overly voluminous and is the weakest point for people to be able to tell you are wearing wig. And be surprise how heavy it is when you hold it in your hands. Everything about this wig is fantastic, even the hair net which usually gives me problem for being overly tight turns out really comfortable on first wear, except that it is too voluminous to be natural. Even the fringe portion was too voluminous and I did layering and shorten it a little to suit myself.
Wig Scalp: There is nothing special about the artificial scalp, just the way you will expect from the typical wig brands of this price range.

Here is how I look with the wig on.
Front

The fringe portion looks a little more natural with some layering.

I really like the natural wave at the hair end. But you can see how unnaturally voluminous this wig is from the picture below. But if you are going for the super dolly look, this one is definitely for you.

I love how the hair falls nicely and naturally around my shoulder.
Combing and untangling this wig is soooooooooooooo much easier than on artificial hair because they are made of human hair which doesn’t tangle up so easily. <- Major plus point for this wig.

One of the style you can do on this wig, a hat.

On owning human made wig: If you are a wig lover, you should really purchase a human hair made wig to enjoy its premium quality and ease of maintainence. Artificial long wigs get messy easily and is a hassle to untangle them but a human hair wig gives you less of such problem. Of course the idea of owning a human hair made wig may not exactly sound like a great idea to some if you think back about its origin (LOL) but I really feel it is a premium thing to own as a wig lover.
Overall Review: I really like the quality but wish for it to be less voluminous. Other than that, I cannot find any fault with it but to love it. At this price for a human hair made wig, I am very satisfied with my purchase and will most probably get my next Vinnie wig soon.
Japanese Wig Brands on Rakuten Vol 1
Hello there! It has been a looooooooooooooong time since I last blog about Japanese wigs here as I was too busy(RL) to keep up with new wig releases on Rakuten! And guess what, I am surprisingly pleased to find a lot more interesting Japanese wig brands since the last time I checked Rakuten out.
From now on, I will make it a point to feature interesting Japanese wig brands that I came across on Rakuten with purchase links for references. You, too, can help to contribute! If you come across any interesting wig brands, please feel free to share them with me here by leaving a comment below or email me at pearlinong@gmail.com because sharing is greatly loved! Thank you in advance!
Okay! Now let’s see what is new, shall we?
Wig Brand #1 - CottonCandyHair
Can you tell who is modelling for this wig brand? Does she look familiar to you? Yes, it is none other than one of my featured FTW model here, AMOSCREAM woot!!!

Rakuten Online Store: http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/cottoncandyhair/
Wig Style: Feminine, Funky, Duotone, Short - Long length, Wavy, Bob, few point wigs, few wig designs at the moment
Colour Chart

Brand Impression: Judging from the model shots, these wigs do look very natural, especially the fringe part, plus they are modeled by AMOSCREAM who is a very famous ZIPPER/KERA model and that makes me feel much assured about its quality because I believe no famous model would want to risk modelling for lousy brands that reflects very badly on them. Tee!
I am very tempted to buy these wigs!
CottonCandyHair Featured Wig 1 - Honey Long Wave ¥4,980 (Purchase here)

That is such a nicely fluffed and wavy big curls wig style! Love it! And just look at how light-weight the fringe is. Sure it looks very natural but I am not too sure if it gets tangled easily since it has sooooo much curls on it.
CottonCandyHair Featured Wig 2 - Dolly Super Long Wave ¥4,980 (Purchase here)

Did you notice the shorter length side burns?

CottonCandyHair Featured Wig 3 - Half Colour Straight Long ¥2,980 (Purchase here)

fringe fringe fringe! They look so natural! I swear thinly layered wigs looks so much more natural!

Yes, I know this design isn’t very new and we have been seeing it in Priscila, Aquadoll etc but seriously, this one is super affordable at ¥2,980 (SGD45.16)!! I am not over with half toned wigs so it is very very likely that I will buy this.
CottonCandyHair Featured Wig 4 - French Medium Airy Short ¥3,980 (Purchase here)

It does look interesting right?

Wig Brand #2 - CHELSEA
This wig brand gives me the impression that it suits just anyone since the design that they have looks quite safe. The style reminds me a lot of NAVANA! Yes, that’s right! No wonder I feel like I have seen them before!
Also judging from the model shots, the artificial hair looks very natural and feel less synthetic. Plus some of their wigs are made of real human hair at a regular wig price.
Plus this wig store has a lot of positive wig reviews, almost full rating for most of its wigs!

Special thanks to my wig buddy, Z00tles from sharing this wig store with me.
Pardon me for saying this but I feel that this store is an Aquadoll rip-off, lol! Many of its designs are soooo similiar to Aquadoll’s and you will see. Even the colour chart is sooo identical to Aquadoll.
